چکیده

Barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) is an annual cereal crop that belongs to the grass family Poaceae of tribe Triticeae. Due establishment and production capacity malt beer factories in Ethiopia, barley demand increased from time time. Eight released varieties were evaluated four environments Wag-himra Lasta districts main season for two years (2016 2017). The objective trial was identify a high yielder standard-quality malting variety production. conducted using randomized complete block design with three replications on plot size 1.2 m width 2.5 length. results revealed there highly significant difference grain yield quality traits ( p < 0.05 ). kernel protein starch content ranged 9.85 11 63–65%. thousand weight range 32.5 46.4 g. EH1847 (3340 kg ha−1), IBON174/03 (3351 Bahati (3220 ha−1) first best performing fulfilled parameter requirements set by National Standard Authority barley. Therefore, these are recommended agroecologies their yield, size, content. Further study required agronomic practices brewing attributes

Effect of Agronomic Practices on Growth, Grain Yield, Malt Yield Losses of Barley (Hordeum vulgare L.)

A field experiment was conducted during 2006-07 and 2007-08 at Ludhiana to study the effect of different agronomic practices on growth, grain yield, malt yield and losses of malt barley (Hordeum vulgare L.).The study revealed that plant height, dry matter accumulation, grain and straw yield were statistically at par with different method of sowing during both the years. Similar trend was also o...

Genetic analysis of forage yield and other traits in barley (Hordeum vulgare L.)

Twenty one genotypes of six – parent half diallel were analyzed for estimating gene effects of variance, combining ability and standard heterosis for forage yield and other traits in barley. The estimates of gene effects revealed the significant role of additive genetic component (D) for the inheritance of days to 50% heading, plant height and spikelets per ear. The non-additive component (H1) ...

Lysine Catabolism in Barley (Hordeum vulgare L.).

Lysine catabolism in seedlings of barley (Hordeum vulgare L. var. Emir) was studied by direct injection of the following tracers into the endosperm of the seedlings: aspartic acid-3-(14)C, 2-aminoadipic acid-1-(14)C, saccharopine-(14)C, 2,6-diaminopimelic acid-1-(7)-(14)C, and lysine-1-(14)C. Labeled saccharopine was formed only after the administration of either labeled 2,6-diaminopimelic acid...
